Position Summary
Single Barrel Liquor & Bar is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Liquor Store Manager to lead daily retail operations at our Bozeman location. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a genuine passion for wine, spirits, and craft beer, and is committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience that reflects our brand and community values

Single Barrel Liquor & Bar is a locally owned liquor store, bar and catering service in Bozeman, Montana. Our liquor store offers a curated selection of fine wines, premium spirits, craft beer, and specialty products. We pride ourselves on knowledgeable service, a welcoming atmosphere, and strong connections within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Recruit, hire, train, and develop retail staff
Create and manage employee schedules
Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture
Provide ongoing coaching and education to staff members
Collaborate with owners and leadership team
Sales & Customer Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge
Maintain attractive and effective merchandising displays
Lead in-store promotions, tastings, and events
Inventory & Vendor Management
Oversee weekly product ordering, receiving, and inventory control
Build and maintain relationships with distributors and vendors
Monitor product mix to align with market demand and trends
Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Montana state liquor laws and regulations
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and store presentation
Manage cash handling, POS systems, and daily financial reporting
Oversee pricing, margins, and cost control
Qualifications
3+ years of retail management experience (liquor, wine, or grocery preferred)
Strong knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience with inventory management and POS systems
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Must meet all legal requirements for alcohol sales in Montana
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing social media and marketing
Certifications such as WSET, Cicerone, or similar
Experience hosting tastings or promotional events
Familiarity with the Bozeman market and local suppliers
